NIGHTGLASS

I built an interactive Moon to explore its phases and libration.

My partA beautiful photo of the Moon made me want to build something I could explore. That became NIGHTGLASS.

It started with a photograph

I saw a beautiful picture of the Moon online and couldn’t stop looking at it. While learning how to recreate it, I discovered libration—a motion I hadn’t known about, and wanted more people to see.

NIGHTGLASS lets me explore the Moon's phases and libration: the changing view that lets us see a little beyond the same familiar face.
