ABSENCE
I built a real-time Schwarzschild black hole that runs in a browser.
My partI developed ABSENCE as a personal project, with a cinematic surface and a LAB where visitors can change real parameters and watch the black hole respond.

The idea that grew
I was building this personal site and wanted a hidden mode where the cursor became a black hole, pulling in and warping text and images. I couldn't make it convincing. A friend saw the 2D rendering and suggested building the real thing in 3D.
Behind the cinematic surface
LAB is the part I'm proudest of. Visitors can change real parameters and watch the black hole respond live. Many people will only see the cinematic surface and never find it.
A personal experiment
Interstellar is my favourite film and a visual inspiration. ABSENCE is a personal project, not a commission or research. The experience is accepted and frozen.
